Our Story: Deeply Rooted in WNC
A Local, Family-Owned, Veteran-Owned Legacy since 1979
In 1979, Harold and Dianne Driggers had a vision to build a family business and a home in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. They founded Cha Vin Electric, naming it after their two sons, Chad and Kevin to reflect their deep family commitment.
As a Navy veteran and a member of the Lumbee Tribe, Harold instilled the values of integrity, hard work, and community service that have guided the company for over four decades. His strong work ethic, combined with Dianne's support, laid the groundwork for a business that has always prioritized its customers and its community.
Little did they know that in 1999, Kevin would join his dad as an Electrical Apprentice while serving in the Army Reserve as a Diesel Mechanic. Licensed as a Master Electrician in 2008, Kevin became Vice President in 2012, following in Harold's footsteps to lead the business.
The company has become a true family affair. In 2020, Kevin's wife, Becky, came on board to provide additional support. Their son, Cory, also started his career with the business in 2020 as an Electrical Apprentice and is now a Journeyman Electrician on the path to becoming a Master Electrician. Their daughter, Nichole, has been providing support as an Administrative Assistant since 2021.
Our story is built on these roots; we are proud to continue to honor that legacy by providing trusted electrical services to our neighbors throughout WNC.

Kevin joined his father, founder Harold Driggers, at Cha Vin Electric as an apprentice in 1999 while serving in the U.S. Army Reserve. Carrying on the family legacy, he achieved his Master Electrician license in 2008 and has been leading the company with excellence as Vice President since 2012.
With over 25 years of personal experience in the electrical trade, Kevin embodies the strong family values that have defined Cha Vin Electric for over 45 years. His trusted leadership inspires our team of electricians who are committed to providing the same reliable, community-focused service that has been a Cha Vin hallmark since 1979.
When he's not on the job, Kevin enjoys spending quality time with his wife and family, hiking, camping, and exploring the beautiful scenery of Western North Carolina.

Electrician | Field Operations Supervisor
Keith has been a vital member of the Cha Vin Electric team since 2009. With over 25 years of experience, he is a highly skilled electrician and an essential leader in the field. Keith is responsible for supervising our team and ensuring every job meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
He is a key communicator between the field crews, project managers, and clients, ensuring a smooth flow of information and that everyone is aligned on project goals and progress. This ensures that customer needs are met with precision and care. Clients appreciate his attention to detail and his ability to explain complex electrical issues clearly.
When he's not on the job, you can find Keith driving his motorcycle, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors here in Western North Carolina.

Bringing over 14 years of electrical experience to the Cha Vin Electric team, RJ has been a dedicated leader and key member since 2018. His career, established in 2011 and meticulously honed through a rigorous 5-year union apprenticeship, provides a solid foundation of expertise.
He is an essential asset to the Cha Vin Electric team, expertly managing projects and transforming client visions into reliable, high-quality electrical systems. Clients trust his precision and unwavering commitment to excellence. RJ champions our tradition of delivering only the best quality work.
When he is not on the job, RJ maintains a dynamic, active lifestyle. He pursues physical fitness goals, enjoys spending quality time with his family, travels, and attends live music events.

Journeyman Electrician
A third-generation electrician continuing the family legacy as Kevin and Becky's son, Cory is a proud and skilled member of the Cha Vin Electric team. His journey with us began in 2020, and he is diligently crafting his skills as a Journeyman Electrician. Through his work, Cory exemplifies our foundational values of excellence, hard work, integrity, and quality craftsmanship.
With 5 years of experience in the electrical trade, he is currently enrolled in the Electrical Systems Technology program at AB Tech. Combining hands-on learning with classroom instruction he is preparing to take the Asheville Journeyman Electrician License exam.
When he's not on the job, Cory makes the most of the great outdoors with his wife and family. His favorite activities include golfing, fishing, paddleboarding, snowboarding, and traveling.

With 10 years of experience in the electrical trade, Joe has quickly integrated himself as a valuable member of the Cha Vin Electric team. Joining us in 2023, he proudly represents a third-generation of electricians. This legacy began with his grandfather's business in Chicago, where he started working in the electrical field at a young age by tagging along with his father.
He consistently embodies our core values of integrity and hard work. This dedication ensures every installation and repair is executed safely and efficiently, with the quality and reliability clients expect from our team, providing peace of mind and building lasting trust in our service.
When he's not on the job, you can find Joe embracing downtime. His ideal way to relax includes a quiet night at home with a good book or taking a sunset stroll on the beach.

Becky has been instrumental to the seamless operation of Cha Vin Electric, serving as the Full Charge Bookkeeper and Office Manager since 2020. As the wife of Vice President Kevin Driggers, she plays an essential role behind the scenes, ensuring all financial records and office operations run smoothly. Her eye for detail ensures every administrative aspect of the business, from payroll to invoicing, is as reliable and efficient as the electrical work in the field.
When she's not at the office, Becky finds her balance in a variety of passions. She enjoys getting lost in a good book, knitting, spending quality time with her family, and exploring the breathtaking natural beauty of the WNC mountains.

Administrative Assistant
Nichole is a proud member of the Cha Vin Electric family, continuing a new generation of the family business as Kevin and Becky's daughter and providing support behind the scenes. Joining us in 2021, she has been a fundamental asset in the office as an Administrative Assistant while pursuing her passion for the culinary arts. She is currently enrolled in AB Tech's respected Culinary Arts program, where she is honing her skills in a hands-on environment.
When she's not at the office or in the kitchen, you can find Nichole on the water paddleboarding, hitting the slopes for a day of snowboarding, reading a thought-provoking book, or working on a charcoal sketch.
